"It was getting really close; my wife’s birthday! I’d done nothing, planned nothing, and had no present; it’s a bloke thing, or maybe it’s just me?
My marriage was just about to disappear beyond the horizon along with Saturday’s sun. And then inspiration struck! My life might just be worth living.
The day arrived and at 11.00 precisely, Anne, accompanied by her apprentice cupcake maker, rang the doorbell. In they came with their cargo; a large white box! Sarah opened it, her jaw dropped and I’m sure she squealed with delight; inside was an array of large cupcakes displaying the message “Happy Birthday Sarah”.
Just like the Lone Ranger and Tonto, Anne and her staff rode to my rescue in Sandridge – I was saved, and for the first time in my life I was also a bit of a hero!
PS. All the cakes were delicious, however, they didn’t last for long and although it didn’t seem important at the time, I’m told they were very good for us and very environmentally friendly – Hi Ho Silver!
Thank you Anne"
